The Palms casino resort in Las Vegas has been closed for more than two years, a casualty of the (COVID-19) pandemic and 2020 shutdowns.

It completely would change this month.

The property, located on Flamingo Road about a mile west of Bellagio, will reopen to the public on April 27. Rooms are now available for stays beginning April 28.

Palms General Manager Cynthia Kiser Murphey told USA TODAY that Las Vegas is known to be such an amazing, iconic destination. And she thinks as the Palms, they have a responsibility to continue to make Las Vegas so special. She added that they were extremely excited.

Palms: The first Native American-owned and operated resort in Las Vegas.

Palms have been initially closed in 2020 as a result of state orders to stop the spread of the coronavirus.

Palms will be the first Native American-owned and operated property in Las Vegas, with new ownership from San Manuel. (Virgin Hotels Las Vegas’ Mohegan Sun Casino is run by a Native American tribe, but the resort is owned by Virgin Hotels and partners.) Palms were initially closed in 2020 as a result of state orders to stop the spread of the coronavirus.

A recent $600 million makeover allowed San Manuel to leave much of the property’s decor untouched, but Kiser Murphey said guests can still expect upgrades.

As previously reported, the casino floor is being redesigned. A new table game layout and slot (think “pods” of slots that will allow guests to converse while playing alongside their friends rather than rows of machines) will be introduced, as well as new machines, as mentioned by Kiser Murphey. Murphy noted that the sportsbook will be completely refreshed as well.

Players who want to earn rewards should sign up for Club Serrano, the property’s new rewards program. The loyalty program is also in place at the Yaamava resort and casino, another San Manuel property in Highland, California, about 312 hours away.

Fourteen (14) movie theaters inside the resort have been completely redone with new reclining seats, a remodeled lobby, and refreshed wall murals from local graffiti artists, according to Kiser Murphey.

According to Kiser Murphey, the property intends to offer a variety of offerings in the 73,000-square-foot multi-level space.

“We’ll have relaxation days and days with a little more excitement with DJs,” she added. She also stated that they are currently working on another element that will be poolside brunches

Most of those intricacies for which Palms is famous will remain. This includes the hotel’s nine themed suites (the Hardwood suite has a personal basketball court, and the cinema suite has its own 98-inch screen), as well as a 13-foot-long tiger shark divided into three parts within a steel tank by Damien Hirst at Unknown Bar.

Kiser Murphey expressed that the shark is waiting for everyone to come back.

F1 IN VEGAS – F1 bets big on Las Vegas, with a race down The Strip

Scotch 80 Prime, Mabel’s BBQ by Chef Michael Symon, and Send Noodles will all be back, and the new casual dining option will be the Serrano Vista Cafe, an American gastropub that guests may try.

Kiser Murphey mentioned that the property is still in the works. The iconic Ghostbar, once a celebrity hangout, and the Pearl Theater are set to reopen this summer. Updates can be found on the property’s website.

VEGAS RESIDENCY OF MIRANDA LAMBERT

Miranda Lambert is prepared for the steadiness of a Las Vegas residency and not waking up “in a parking lot.”

Palms reopening on the 27th, April

According to Kiser Murphey, the property hopes to attract a mix of locals and tourists, particularly those from Southern California who visit Yaamava’.

“We’re investing a lot of time and effort to make the gaming floor as appealing as possible to local residents,” Kiser Murphey added. “Restaurants, Locals, and bars place a high value on movies. Then, when we launch the entertainment a few months later, we will undoubtedly have locals.”

The Locals and the visitors alike will appreciate the location and free self-parking.

If you’re on the Strip it is a quick Uber ride or rides up.  Kiser noted that they are pumped about the location. The Palms attracts a large number of people whether a visitor or locals so we’re ecstatic to be here, he said.

The reopening date of the property will be on April 27th with a fireworks show.
