The Return: A Borgata Championship Event is a recent addition to the Borgata New Jersey casino which saw an impressive turnout by BetMGM, a leading sports betting and online casino operator. This event was open to those willing to make a $5,300 buy-in and offered a huge $3 million guaranteed prize pool – with at least $1 million of this reserved for first place.
It took four days of intense play but it was Philly native Bin Weng who eventually came out in the top spot and walked away with the massive top prize. He also has the distinction of being the first poker player in the US to realize such an incredible win in 2023! Following a period of much excitement and anticipation, the high-stakes championship poker event finally commenced at Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa from January 4th to 8th. After eight long hours, Bin Weng from Philadelphia has finally declared the champion of “The Return”. Out of 1,142 entries that had participated in the event, only eight players remained at the Final Table.
$1 Million Win For The Champion!
The eventual winner went on to take home an impressive figure of $1 million as first-place prize money, defeating Brooklyn’s Sundiata Devore who finished second for $777,814. Meanwhile, Joe McKeehen and Jonathan Borenstein placed third and fourth respectively for $440,327 and $368,324.
The massive turnout of participants gave way to a huge bounty prize which amounted to a mammoth $5,538,700 total prize pool that made all eyes glued to the game unfolding at the last stages. For Weng, however, it was undoubtedly a night he will never forget as he came out as the ultimate victor after having dealt with such stiff competition.
